Week In Review

Training Schedule (4.6.15 - 4.12.15)

4.6.15// Today was the day I decided to return to Hot Yoga!  You may recall my lovely ode to hot yoga from last fall, when I devoted a whole post to the lovely Sumits Yoga studio I started attending last summer.  However, while I kept with it, once it turned cold...getting up at 5am became harder and harder.  Now that we're full steam into spring, I'm getting back at it...and boy did it feel good (in that hurts so good it's good hurt). haha

I actually went to a 6:30pm class (after work, a first!) and before I left, I did a quick 1 mile run, just get a run in. ;)  Busted it out in 10:01.

4.7.15 // Rest day.

4.8.15 // 5:30am hot yoga.  Since I've been gone, they now have all their 5:30am classes at an hour (vs the normal 80 minutes) and I'd never attended one of these before.  They took out a few poses (obvi!) and the abs section, but overall it was still a great way to start the day.  I actually felt pretty good all things considered (but still hurt the good hurt.) haha

4.9.15 //Rest day.  Wasn't feeling too hot, but sipped tea all day at work, and made it work!

4.10.15 // I actually stayed home sick from work today.  I think it was more preventative as I've felt much worse this weekend (haha) but my throat was killing me, so I wanted to rest up since I figured something was coming.  I did take Toby on a 2.5 mile walk, as it was a lovely day and I wanted to get out for a bit.  I also watched Cinderella and Pocahontas which I had saved on DVR a few weeks ago - thanks ABC Family! =)

4.11.15 //  At this point, I was full on sick.  And by that I just mean a hardcore runny nose, throat hurt, and congestion.  I spent most of day relaxing but did end up going on a nice 4 mile trail walk with the hubs - again it was just too nice out (and my fitbit made feel lazy, even with being sick) so I figured why not.  I took it easy, and if anything I hit my steps for the day soooo...win?

4.12.15 //  I did nothing today.  I watched a variety of TV shows, Sleeping Beauty (also DVRed a few weeks ago) and just relaxed.  I wasn't going to push my luck with going out and walking again, so I really did very little activity - except blow my nose, a lot.

Hoping to get well soon so I can get back into the hot yoga routine and, obviously, running.

What do you do with your training when you're sick?

Furry Friday

If you follow me on Instagram (basic.sass) then you know I was drinking tea yesterday and not feeling too hot. Well, I'm still not feeling that hot so I'm home today curled up on the couch with Toby, hoping to feel better soon!  I got back into hot yoga this week, and was bummed to miss class this AM.

Today's Furry Friday is also a Flashback Friday to being in Disney this past January for marathon weekend.

During our time in Animal Kingdom our safari truck at Kiliminjaro Safaris got "stuck" thanks to a giraffe or two so we ended up getting awesome pics thanks to the 10 minute hold up (they had to call someone to come and get him away because he was NOT moving) haha  It was awesome being "that truck" but I felt bad for those who were not stuck in a good photo opportunity place.  Fun fact; my running BFF, Beth, actually use to drive the Kilominjaro Safari truck when she was a CP so she felt the pain of our driver. ;)

Enjoy...already counting down to my next Disney trip... ;)

Furry Friday

A funny thing happened in our home Tuesday evening.  Toby went on a hunt!  He was on the hunt for a specific toy, which unfortuntely was burried in a toy basket.  I must confess, over the course of being Toby's owner/mom I have used any excuse possible to buy him a new toy, typically of the stuffed variety.  Christmas, obvious!  Running into the store to buy some treats, sure!  Browsing an online dog boutique, yes!  Birthday, well duh!  ...you get the point.  I understand it may seem a bit oh, excessive, lol but I love him and gladly spoil him.

While he has a main little toy bin of his favorites in our family room, he has an overflow basket behind our main couch that he will occationally pull things out of, but this night he had his sights set on getting that darn floppy moose!  He proceeded to drag his toy basket from behind the couch - tugging on the leg of said moose - and refused to give up on getting his prize.  I did actually video tape this for my own amusement, because well - I love him and his funny quirks!

He did eventually dig it out play with it for a hot second - seriously, for all that work you'd think he'd be playing with it for the rest of the evening - but he was over it and went back to one of his usual favs within a few minutes.  Below is a little timeline of events. ;)

My first inkling of what was up...
Still tugging on to the rug...
Starting to take other toys out to get to the goods...so many to choose from!
The moose has been captured!  Play time!
Look what I did mom! <3

Does your pet do anything crazy?  Do you shower your pet with gifts? haha

Throwback Thursday - My Wedding

My first blog #TBT!  haha

It is CRAZY to me that this weekend marks 1 year of blissful marriage with my amazing husband!  I think back to this time last year, and it is a bit of a blur of final preparations and good times with good people.

We opted to have a small wedding - as in an invite list of 35 of our nearest and dearest - and it.was.PERFECT. I couldn't have asked for a better day, with better people to start a new chapter in my life with my the man I love. <3

We got married at a lovely garden center, terrain.  If you're a fan of Anthropologie, you may have heard of it, as it's part of the URBN family.  It was the perfect rustic spot for our nuptials, where I got to add my own DIY touches, and it exceeded my expectations in terms of how I pictured my wedding day.

In honor of that - here are a few snapshot of the day.  Honestly...this was hard.  I love ALL of our photos.  This is one reason we haven't finalized our official album yet, because I cannot cut them down.  We've discussed maybe making this weekend THE weekend so we can actually get our pictures chosen, we shall see.  Photography was by the wonderful ladies (we actually used associates to save a lil $$) at Love Me Do Photography - they are all fab and do amazing work!

Getting dolled up with Toby.

My ladies!

Our "first look" before the ceremony.

Our family!

One of my DIY projects - honey that was served during Cocktail Hour, that I jarred and tied tags to as favors.

Bridal party!

My mom actually took this one...it's one of my favs with Toby.  He's smiling. =)

Dad <3

Fun with maids...

...fun with the mens.

?

We had a sparkler sendoff, it was awesome.

After our wedding we met up with a group of friends at a local restaurant/bar, so even though we had an intimate wedding, we still got to celebrate with friends...and keep the party going!

With wedding season upon us (Fun fact: In 2013 we had 10 weddings over the course of the year between our friends and family...this year we will only be attending 1. lol) Do you have any weddings coming up?  Do you have a favorite wedding you've attended?
